Have you always wanted a dog but you’re just not sure? Great! This is a Win-Win for everyone. You get to have a dog for a while and enjoy the experience.
Mostly Muttz Rescue gets to find out ALL about that pup’s personality. The dog gets to live in a caring home and give you lots of love until it finds its forever.
(Overnights, Hold for foster availability, vacation coverage): Be a temporary or fill-in foster for a volunteer who is going on vacation. Overnight a dog that needs help getting to another foster, or just came off transport and is headed to the kennel.
Mostly Muttz Rescue has a number of dogs who are waiting for a forever or foster home. These dogs are currently being housed in one of our boarding kennels. Take one of our kennel muttz for a walk and some socialization!
We currently have dogs in the Reading, Chester Springs, and Quakertown area. Orientation provided.
Event Leaders & Dog Holders
Mostly Muttz Rescue holds a myriad of public events which support our efforts in different ways. There are Meet & Greets, which are for the purpose of getting our adoptable dogs seen. Many successful adoptions begin here!
- Event Leaders: Secure the venue, clear it with our Events Coordinator, engage others to get the word out about the event and then lead the logistics of that event – setting it up, assigning whatever duties are needed to the individuals assisting at the event and then at the conclusion of the event, taking it down.
- Dog Handlers/Holders: Help bring the foster dog of another volunteer or a kennel mutt to an event. Help that dog get seen and adopted!

What Drives Us
Mostly Muttz Rescue is an IRS registered, 501(c)3, public charity that is an all-volunteer, foster based canine rescue striving to keep man’s best friend from dying alone in the shelter system.
At Mostly Muttz Rescue, it is our passion to save dogs with life-long special needs and acute medical needs as well as healthy, more easily adoptable dogs. We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves a fighting chance to live, to love and to be loved for the duration of their lives.
